Publication Design

From 2011 to 2025 I designed the annual reports for Physics of the Cosmos technologies and Cosmic Origins technology development, for the NASA Astrophysics Division. I was responsible for overall publication design, page layout, illustrations, photo retouching, and occasional photography. These publications were used to keep the astrophysics community informed of ongoing developments and as reference material in successful lobbying campaigns for funding within NASA. As these reports became more successful in their purpose, participation in the reports grew, and they doubled in size over the first 6 years of their publication, from two 100-page books to two 200 + page books. In an effort to realize greater efficiency and cost savings, from 2018 to 2025, NASA made the decision to publish graphics heavy, 32-page books, annually. Please see these publications at Technology Resources - NASA Science

I regularly provided illustration, photography, virtual modeling and design services for NASA factsheets, brochures, and newsletters. I was also responsible for print production in coordination with the Government Printing Office.

While employed by the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, I provided publication and advertisement design, as well as layout and illustration support for their annual report, “The Connection,” and “The Advance,” newspapers, as well as for “Kaleidoscope” magazine.
